Privacy

The short version: this website collects what you type into the contact form, and nothing else. The longer version is below.

This website

The website is a set of static pages. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel, no third-party analytics script and no cookie set by us — which is why there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

Two things are loaded from outside: web fonts from Google Fonts, and — if it is enabled on the contact form — Cloudflare Turnstile, which distinguishes people from bots without the puzzles. Each sees your IP address as part of serving the request.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

The contact form

What you enter — your name, email address, phone number if you give one, an approximate syndicate size if you give one, and your message — is emailed to us and kept in our inbox so we can reply and refer back to the conversation. It is not added to a mailing list, and it is not sold, rented or shared with anyone for marketing.

Delivery of that email is handled by Resend, our email provider, which processes it on our behalf.

The app

The app at app.lottosyndicate.nz is a separate system with its own login. It stores what a syndicate organiser enters: syndicate details, member names, email addresses and phone numbers where given, balances, and the ledger of movements.

Two things are worth knowing if you are the organiser, because they are your responsibility rather than ours:

  • You are entering other people’s personal information. Under the Privacy Act 2020 you should be doing that with their knowledge, and they are entitled to ask you what you hold about them.
  • Members do not have accounts and cannot log in to check for themselves — which is exactly why the app emails each of them their own figures as things happen.

Member data is used only to run the syndicate it belongs to and to send that syndicate’s own emails. It is never used for marketing, never shared between syndicates, and never sold.

How long things are kept

Contact form enquiries stay in our inbox until they are no longer useful. Syndicate data stays for as long as the syndicate is on the app; if you close it and ask us to remove the data, we will.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it. Email info@lottosyndicate.nz and we will deal with it.

If you are a member of a syndicate rather than its organiser, ask your organiser first — the data is theirs to manage, and they can correct or remove it directly.
